UTI's twins

These cutie pies are the latest crush. A wonderful conceptual AD being aired these days on the channels about the change in name of UTI to 'Axis'. "Everything Else Remains Same". The two bacchis are the cutest and most lovable seens on TV for a long time and definitely leaves a mark to every human bearing a child OR aspiring to have one OR was one sometime :)

Jagjit Singhji and Ghulam Ali concert in Bangalore

A misty evening and the otherwise cosmopolitan jeans clad Bangalore public, was seen in Paijama-kurtas, sherwani and suits; the evening was all set for probably the yummiest musical treat for me. Jagjit Singhji and Ustad Ghulam Ali Saab, duo was performing at Gayatri Vihar, Bangalore palace next to my place. The day is 4th August 07.

Shot from the last row, the gathering had some 3000 people

Clicked! Thanks to bhaiya for lending me his Nikon :)

Jagjit Singhji was first to enthrall the crowd with the signature ghazals. He started with - Har taraf har jagah beshumaar aadmi, firbhi tanhaiyon ka shikaar aadmi... (from the album Sajda)

Then followed with these

2. Mei nashe mei hu..
3. Tere baare mei jab socha nahi tha..
4. Ye daulat bhi lelo..
5. Koi fariyaad dil mei ..
6. Jhoom ke jab rindo ne..
7. Baat niklegi toh ...
8. Kiska chehra ab mei dekhu ..
9. Kal chaudvin ki raat thi...
10. Tera chehra kitna suhana...
11. Lara lappa...
12. Sarakti jaye hai rukh se....

I have been following every album of Jagjitji over and over for 8 years now(thanks to Ashi for introducing me to him) and it isn't tough to imagine what it meant to hear him live.

Ghulam Ali Saab followed and he was greeted in all warmth of dosti by Jagjitji (it happened to be Friendship Day this day!).

He started with his plethora of shers and funny one-liners which he is known for. I remember one of those --

Roz sochta hu hi ushe bhool jau,
Roz sochta hu ki ushe bhool jau...
Aur roz ye baat bhool jata hu.

I knew it was his turn to push me into the world of awe and mesmerizing aura. He started with Dil mei ek lehar si uthi hai abhi...

The that followed
2. Ye tumhare gham ke chirag..
3. Mehfil mei baar baar...
4. Ye baatein jhuti baatein hai..
5. and the most popular -- Chupke Chupke..

He signed off with another sher -- 'Toh kya yeh tay hai, tujhse umr bhar nahi milna.. toh ye umr hi kyu agar ab aur nahi milna..'

I was humming along with the legends as they performed ignoring the 'rude' thought that might have ran through the minds of people next seat :D What more do I say -- let me summarize it all in Jagjitji's own lines -- 'Aapko dekhkar dekhta rehgaya .. Kya kahu aur kehne ko kya reh gaya.. ' :D

Agar tum mil jao...

The original version! Wonderful expressions goes on well with her voice and serenity..

Tumhe dil mei rakhenge ...apne palkko mei chupalenge...
Tumhe khusboo samajhke ...apni saanso mei basaalenge...
Qyamat tak jo na toote .. wo rishta jod denge hum ...
Agar tum ..
